Relationship is passion, love and romance with someone. Communication and understanding is far more important in a serious relationship, and the criteria for that perfect partner will be different than for a 'casual fling'.

I absolutely agree, the criteria for a long term relationship is very different than for a fling.

Actually, for me these days, relationship is much more than romance and passion. Romance and passion tend to fade. At this point in my life I'm looking for companionship and depth of personality. And, of course, as you say, communication and understanding.
